Well that was fun.

Power went out in our neighborhood tonight (no surprise considering that Duke Energy reported an all-time record usage of electricity today because of the 100º+ temps in North Carolina, and warnings that the strain was too much for their grids), and so we sat over on the neighbor's porch and ate all their ice cream sandwiches before they melted and drank all their beer before it went warm.

Even thought the power was restored within about 2 hours, we simply turned off the lights and continued to sit out in the dark, talking and drink into we had had our fill.

This afternoon we finished off the last bit of beer from the last keg left over from the Rollerboogie wedding on Friday -- and boy, did I need some hair of the dog. Two straight nights of drinking large amounts of very good beer (and, umm, BPR) until the wee hours of the morning -- not to mention skating for the first time in 25 years -- really took it out of me.

Once I sort thru all the Roller Disco photos, I'll post some of the better ones.
